To Our Prospective and Admitted Students,

COVID-19 has changed and challenged the world, and we hope that you and your loved ones are staying healthy and safe.

While COVID-19-related campus closures have certainly changed how we’re working, rest assured that we are still here to support you no matter where you are in your college search, application, or enrollment process.

Here are a few things we’d like you to know right away:

  • UMBC is open, with employees working remotely to support you.
  • The best way to reach us with questions is by email at admissions@umbc.edu.
  • Campus facilities remain closed, so all in-person events and tours are canceled for the foreseeable future, but you can still explore campus virtually.
  • We are adopting a test-optional admissions program for Fall 2021 applicants which means you are not required to submit standardized test scores (SAT/ACT) with your application.

Visit our Frequently Asked Questions page to understand some of the other ways in which COVID-19 may impact you during application and enrollment. To learn more about UMBC’s plans for Fall 2020, we encourage you to visit our Retrievers Return Roadmap.

No matter what, we’re #UMBCTogether.

With Retriever Pride,
The UMBC Admissions and Orientation Team

“UMBC is a place where the student experience is about finding your passion and exploring issues that matter, in the classroom and the community.”
