The Registrar’s Office and Off-Campus Student Services (OCSS) are here to help students who are using military education benefits understand how their benefits work towards funding their education. The Registrar’s Office processes transactions between UMBC and the Department of Veteran Affairs. This can be a confusing process so we have developed an admitted student checklist, returning student checklist, and for those temporarily studying at UMBC, a guest student checklist.
UMBC Veteran Services
UMBC Veteran Services within OCSS connects service members, veterans, and their families to services, programming, and support.
OCSS – Veterans Contact
Whether you are a prospective or current student veteran or dependent at UMBC, we’re here to help you! Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Programming for Veteran Students Through OCSS
OCSS hosts a variety of events for our veteran students including our “Coffee and Conversations” series of conversations around topics related to the veteran community at UMBC. C&C is a great opportunity for you to connect with other veterans while learning about different resources that can support you through your education journey. Other events include Hail & Farewell, our send-off for graduating veteran students; and collaborative events with various organizations focused on veterans. You can find more information at ocss.umbc.edu.
Career Center: Resources for Students with Military Experience
UMBC’s Career Center provides Veteran students with opportunities to develop and realize their professional and career potential by maximizing their transferable skills.
